This website provides information on medications approved for prescribing within the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA).
How to Find a Drug
• Search:
Enter the drug name in the search box located above the buttons on the right-hand side of the home page and press Enter.
• Therapeutic Sections:
Select the Therapeutic Sections button in the center of the home page to view categories. Click on a section to display the drugs within that category.
• Drug Index:
Select the Drug Index (top middle tab) to view all drugs listed in alphabetical order.
Included Drug Information
Formulary Status
Refer to the drug status key (on the left) for guidance on prescribing restrictions within HSA.
• This indicates who is authorized to prescribe each medication.
• If you wish to request a drug outside your prescribing scope, a Named Patient Application with appropriate clinical justification is required.
Drug Specifications
Additional specifications (e.g. high-cost drug, over-the-counter status) are displayed as tags beside the drug name.
• Hover over each icon to view its description.
Additional Drug Information
• Click on BNF or CBNF icon to access drug information reference sources.
• Click on the green arrow next to the drug name or the drug name itself to access additional information e.g. formulary statuses, available products, clinical alerts.
